Muž Bez Vlastností

The production is inspired by the novel of the same name by the Austrian writer Robert Musil, which is considered one of the most important literary works of the last century. The novel is characterized by irony and sarcasm, it mixes contempt with admiration and nostalgia for something that ends when a new one begins. Despite the fact that Robert Musil did not finish this novel, the panopticon of the thought processes of the characters in this show and their relationships with each other are a foreshadowing of the old going and the new coming - for the creators it calls for an updated treatment.

The main thing in the novel is not what was said, but what is kept silent.

The world in which the individual characters move in the production is a colorful kaleidoscope, somewhat reminiscent of a shark's stomach, in which the digestion of characters of all kinds takes place. The characters cannot maintain their identity and do not complete their actions - the fragment prevails over the whole. The literary plot is essentially absent, the protagonists act more than they think (in the novel it is the opposite, but it means the same thing). The protagonists have a kind of fictitious form, they move as if behind some dark board, they appear before they start to act, and they disappear the moment we forget about them.

Muž Bez Vlastností is an ironic-delusional panorama of modern society and its thinking.
