Extant (still in existence) is a multilayered performance that takes audiences into a parallel universe. Littered by cables, cameras and equipment, the stage is transformed into a film studio that exposes the behind the scenes of a film production and becomes a performance on its own. It is a space where the creators challenge the perception of the 2D image of the camera through the precision in choreography, lighting and use of props. The other universe take audiences into a live cinema experience that contrasts the making of and tells a poetic story that examines the phases of life, memories and the inevitable constant of time inherent through a physical representations of the relationship between people and the planet. Using a hands-on approach, the meeting of dance and camera engages the narrative through perspective and perception. Extant is a unique multi-layered performance that demolishes art boundaries and transcends conventional structures.
